Visit White Sands in the late afternoon and meet some folks who were there for the sunset tour. I spoke with the ranger, Tirzio Lopez, who led the tour, and some visitors from Boston, Mass., Anne Walthers and Ralph Weber. Anne and Ralph had visited the park twice before, but never at sunset or under a full moon. In fact, they planned their entire southwest trip around this full moon event.
