The Big Top was offering to have this place where we can get up and talk about our culture.
Where oftentimes in the past it was often time misrepresentation you know for the Anishinaabe peoples in the area.
We invited storytellers from all over to come in and musicians to come in and help tell the story.
We had a cast of like 14 people or more probably And they all took part in it.
And they all played really great roles.
We thought that it was time like people would listen.
And want to hear these stories.
By the people who these stories originate from.
People more and more realize that it wasn only until 1978 that Native Americans finally got freedom of religion.
And it wast until 1968 that we actually got freedom of speech.
And that only a few generations.
Before that, we were pretty silent.
So it takes a few generations to learn how to speak in a way where that other side of things will hear us.
