In 1938, the Library of Congress sent song-collector Alan Lomax to Michigan to record folk songs of the area. In St. Ignace, he also recorded an oral history of Asel Trueblood, a Lake Michigan sailor. Here, Asel Trueblood tells the story of his life on the lakes.
