Augusta, Maine's Capital City
Special | 3m 30s
Augusta, the state capital, is also a cultural hub in central Maine.
Originally an English trading post on the Kennebec River, Augusta has since grown. You can visit the magnificent Maine State House or Old Fort Western, the oldest surviving wooden fort in the United States. The city is also the home Togas National Cemetery and features two large rotary circles (roundabouts in England) that always manage to confuse those from "away."
