The poet’s homework assignment was to count each and every groove in her life.

Phebe Hanson was recorded in 1980 reading her poem “Grooves” in Becky’s Cafeteria in Uptown Minneapolis where she liked to write. Hanson appeared so often on KTCA’s “Nighttimes Magazine” in the early 1980s that she was referred to as the program’s poet laureate. Hanson taught writing with great passion for decades in the Minneapolis Public Schools. ??
