El Morro: Inscription Rock

Special | 4m 45s

Forty miles outside of Grants resides a massive sandstone bluff at what is called El Morro National Monument. This rock tells many stories in an unusual manner...through inscriptions and petroglyphs. Although the Anasazi were the first to leave their mark, Don Juan de Onate, in the 17th century, on his way back from what is now the Gulf of California, was the first to inscribe the rock.
